Dressed in Distress

Woe to dame who seeks grand disguise

Donning black feather boa, veil of lace

Certain rouge-tinted lips and kohl-lined eyes

Will hide sad truth: her sashay’s out of place

Far better, modest dress…and to feign she’s wise

Than prove flamboyant fool gowned in disgrace

But if there still be question of persona—

It’s best to stay in bed, wear frayed kimono.
